This year starting on November 27th until December 18th, we will be celebrating the Holiday season with our “Light the Tree” digital campaign to raise awareness of AWA and raise funds for families in need of Respites. Participation in the event is easy! Just follow three easy steps:
- Break out your holiday decorations and share a photo of your tree, menorah, or other holiday decorations on social media.
- Tag us! Use #AWALighttheTree and tag our organization
- If you are able, donate through our website and encourage your friends to do the same. Every bit helps us to provide Respites all year long.
The Impact of “Light the Tree”
A Week Away is an organization primarily run by volunteers. Donations given through our local community go a long way in providing Respites for families and care teams who are battling a life-threatening illness. Historically our Light the Tree Campaign has been a massive factor in growing the number of Respites we can provide every year. This year even if you cannot donate, spreading awareness of AWA through your photos and tags is a great way to help out our organization.
We can’t wait to see the photos full of holiday cheer through social media this year, and we hope to up the ante with our fundraising during this Holiday season. So, this year get out all of your lights, baubles, wreaths, and ornaments, and show us what you’ve got! You can directly impact everything we do here at A Week Away to provide families facing life-threatening illnesses a peaceful and needed Respite to enjoy time as a family without stress and worry.
After snapping a picture of your seasonal celebrations, spread Holiday cheer by sipping on an A Week Away Ale during Pint Night at Our Town Brewery on December 16th! A percentage of the proceeds will be donated to the Light the Tree event.
